Juicer Review

Submitted by yogabellymama on Wed, 01/23/2019 - 10:00

In case you missed it, we started juicing with the family again.  When you start looking into a juicer it can be overwhelming with the number of juicers on the market.  So we decided to share about the two we've tried and what we like and don't like about them.

Now for those who don't know, there are many different types of juicers on the market.  We have tried a centrifugal juicer (Breville) and a low-masticating juicer (Omega).  There are also other more expensive ones out there, but we needed something that fit our family's budget and lifestyle (i.e. time efficient).

The Secret to Success

SUPPORT.  COMMUNITY.  SANGHA

Something so simple, but so crucial in everything we do.

Life takes a community.  Whether it's for work, home life, recreational - we all need support from others to truly succeed.  This doesn't mean that you can't do things on your own, of course independence is an important factor as well.  But, we can't always be a one WOman show.

For example, work tasks almost always go beyond your department/scope at some point.  You will need to communicate and work with others outside your self to support whatever project you're working on.

We're Juicing!

We have started the family out with juicing for 2019.  A great way to get the kids learning about different types of vegetables and fruits.  We also talk about colours, trying new foods and making out own combination of drinks to try.

A big bonus is that it also helps get in our green juice with the kids.  Introducing these things early in life so that they grow up with this being the norm and not the exception.

Are you drinking enough water?

Did you know?
The Institute of Medicine recommends 10 eight ounce glasses of water each day for pregnancy. 🙄how many glasses of water did you get in today?

Not pregnant? The Institute of Medicine recommends 91 ounces/day for women.

Now don't go chugging your quota so quickly. Bring water into your regular daily routine and keep hydrated by sipping throughout the day. This will help reduce the "gotta pee like RIGHT NOW" kinds of moments. Lol.

This is not medical advice. Consult your doctor or midwife regarding hydration during pregnancy.

Plant-based what?

Submitted by yogabellymama on Mon, 01/14/2019 - 10:25

Bet you didn't know I ate a plant-based diet for a few years while living away from home.  It was too easy to have take out and reheat processed foods living on my own. So I committed to eating  like a vegan to ensure I didn't come home after my PhD fat, sick and nearly dead.  That's a movie people... did you get the reference???

Starting 2019 out right.

Finished an amazing Meet and Greet event at Float Valley in Markham this past Saturday.  Thank you to everyone who came out.

I left the event with such a gratitude high.  I did not expect so many people to come out.  It was so nice to see some of our past clients and their families.  I had new faces come out just to say hi.  It was just amazing!

A big thank you to those who sponsored the event Float Valley, Prenatal Ease, Mama Lo's Bakery and Kitchen, Mandi Mugginz, Aura Stone Designs, Lululemon and Pampers.
